Embracing the Process

Here’s the thing – CHANGE IS NOT LINEAR. Truth be told, your fitness journey won’t be either. I don’t say that to be discouraging, but to be real and open with you before you begin. However, consider this as a beautiful thought, as it just shows that life happens, and that determination and hard work will overcome the difficult times.

Just as the graph shows, there will be some really great, consistent weeks, and others that aren’t so great. THAT’S NORMAL. You are not alone in the ups and downs. As best as you can, simply focus on limiting the amount and duration of the downs, and celebrate the ups. Give yourself credit when you deserve it.

Before starting your journey, I recommend that you to take the time to jot down the major goals you are wanting to achieve throughout and by the end of your program. Keep these posted somewhere that you can see them often, to remind yourself of what you are working for. Your priorities and actions will be more likely to be guided by these reminders the more often you see them.

At the end of the day, just remember: love yourself, love the journey, and love the process.
