What is the most important thing you have to do today? Tomorrow? Next week?
Life can get crazy sometimes – for all of us. Therefore, putting time aside for yourself has never been more important. Often times we have the best of intentions at the start of our day; but then time gets away from us, other tasks come forward, and we lose track of what we had planned.
Having a schedule can be very powerful. This doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to plan each and every aspect of your day, however putting time aside for the things you want to prioritize is the best way to ensure they don’t get forgotten, or pushed aside. Here are a few tips that I love to provide for my clients to help stay accountable for staying on top of their workout routine:
- The week before, set your workout days & times in your schedule, and don’t stray from them.
- Set small weekly, ATTAINABLE goals.
- Keep your workout time as consistent as possible – when that time of the day rolls around, your body will be ready to start moving.
- Track your progress – when you start to see your gains on paper, it will motivate you to keep going.
- Keep a positive mindset.
A fitness journey is a process, not a one-time fix. Your accountability will ebb and flow throughout, and this is completely normal. You just have to find a way to keep moving forward, and reminding yourself why you started, and how important it is that you see it through.
